DONOR INFORMATION REGARDING ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS
The Holo Tree Foundation is a religious organization operating as a church. The organization has been assigned a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) by the Internal Revenue Service and is registered as an Unincorporated Nonprofit Association in the State of California, effective October 22, 2020.
Under the Internal Revenue Code, churches that satisfy the requirements of Section 501(c)(3) are generally exempt from federal income taxation and are excepted from the requirement to apply for formal recognition of exemption pursuant to Section 508(c)(1)(A). Accordingly, qualifying churches are not required to obtain an IRS determination letter in order to be recognized as tax-exempt under federal law.
Consistent with these provisions, the Holo Tree Foundation has not applied for or obtained an IRS determination letter recognizing exemption under Section 501(c)(3). The organization operates in reliance upon the statutory provisions applicable to churches and religious organizations under federal law.
Contributions to organizations that qualify under Sections 501(c)(3) and 170 of the Internal Revenue Code are generally deductible for federal income tax purposes, subject to applicable legal requirements and the individual circumstances of each donor.
Upon reasonable request, the Holo Tree Foundation will make available documentation concerning its organizational formation, governing structure, religious purpose, and other information relevant to its status under applicable federal and state law. Donors should retain records of their contributions and consult their own professional tax advisors regarding the tax treatment of any contribution.
No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution, other than intangible religious benefits, if any.
